The studio began as a Reiki healing center but has expanded to incorporate asanas (movement). REIKI CIRCLES AND PRIVATE SESSIONS

The thing that started it all at Studio Santosha!  Reiki is the universal life force energy that is within all of us.  This practice of energy healing supports us emotionally, spiritually and physically. During a 1:1 or small group Reiki session, you can expect to find comfort with props (sometimes we utilize restorative yoga in conjunction with Reiki) while the practitioner hovers and lies hands on you.  We focus on the seven major chakras and support areas with gentle massage.  You can expect to leave this session with a deep sense of calm and relaxation. You will thank yourself for joining this!

YOGA 

We offer a variety of yoga classes from Gentle Yin & Restore, Gentle Slow Flow, Power Flow and Arm Balance & Inversions.  There is a class for everyone.  Book online today.

BARRE

Our Barre class offers a low intensity, whole body workout.  You will leave this class feeling strong, powerful and well stretched.

OUR CLASSES

GENTLE YIN AND RESTORE

This goal of this class is to feel supported and to let go mentally and physically.  This style of class will activate your parasympathetic system which will allow you to rest and digest.  
The first portion of class will be yin in style where we will focus on postures that target the joints, connective tissue, fascia of the body.  We are looking for strong stretching sensations.  From there we will transition into restorative postures which will be fully supported by props.  This class is mostly seated and supine (on your back).  Throughout the class, students will receive a touch of Reiki. 
*This class is suitable for all ages and abilities.

GENTLE SLOW FLOW

Ready to roll out your mat and get started with yoga poses? This class has a little bit of everything: breath work, meditation, dynamic flow, stretches and restoration. This class offers anatomical cuing to help you find and settle into each posture in a way that supports your body.  If you are looking for a class that offers active and restful poses, this is the one for you!
*This class is suitable for all ages and abilities.

Hatha Yoga Flow

Hatha classes emphasize proper alignment and holding poses for a few breaths to fully engage and appreciate the posture.  We will move our body as we connect to our breath.  The sequences in this class will be filled with fun transitions and diversity in asanas (postures).  During this class, you will learn both the Sanskrit and English names for postures.  You will leave this class feeling stronger, leaner, calm and loved.
*Suitable for those that have taken  Gentle Slow Flow.

ARM BALANCE AND INVERSION

Have you ever been in a class where the instructor says, "If you have x arm balance/inversion in your practice, go for it" but have wondered how to safely do so?  Then this class is for you!  We will break down arm balances and inversions from the ground up and work towards these postures as we flow.  This class is a mixture of a typical flow (85%) and workshop style (15%) to get you safely into these asanas. Together with the instructor’s guidance, you will be able to challenge yourself and reach all new heights. Through this class you will discover a whole new world that yoga has to offer.

*This class is suitable for those that have a strong power flow background.

YOGA BARRE BLEND

The perfect balance to your yoga practice. Our Barre class is a full body workout that combines low-impact exercises with high-intensity isometric movements targeting slow-twitch muscle fibers.  This style of class will build strength, add definition and increase flexibility.  We focus on burning out and creating a fire in all major body parts:  arms, legs and core.  We will use light weights and high reps to work our arms; lunges, squats and ballet like movements to tone our legs and will finish with core work.  Throughout class, we transition from exercise to exercise via yoga postures.  This class is designed to improve flexibility while strengthening and toning the body.
*This class is suitable for all ages and abilities.

Answers to Everyday Inquiries

WHICH OF YOUR CLASSES IS BEST SUITED FOR ME?

Studio Santosha offers classes for all bodies and abilities.  Whether you want a gentle yin and restorative practice that is primarily seated or on your back, a challenging physical practice of power flow or something in between, Studio Santosha classes will have modifications and accommodations so you can access any classes that interest you. 

DO I NEED TO BRING PROPS?

While it is preferred that you bring your own mat, we have a few available to rent. All other props such as blocks, bolsters and blankets will be provided. Be sure to bring water to class.

CAN I BOOK A PRIVATE CLASS?

Yes! We offer private and small group sessions in Reiki, Yoga and Barre. 

DO YOU OFFER REIKI TRAINING?

We do! Studio Santosha offers both Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 training. Reiki 1 is a two day in person commitment whereas Reiki 2 is a hybrid with one day of online learning and one day of in person learning. Reiki Master* training is available upon request. 
*Reiki Master training is available for those who took both Reiki 1&2 training with Ally. 

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED? WHERE DO I PARK?

Studio Santosha is located in Kailua at 220 Po'oPo'o Place. There is ample street parking on Luika Place which is just a few properties before our residential studio.  Doors open 15 minutes prior to class.

*Google maps may direct you to go through Waimanalo via Bellows. This is a restricted military base - do not go this route.  Rather, pass Kailua Beach Park, turn on to Aalapapa Drive and follow it towards the end of Lanikai.  Po'opo'o Place is the last street on the right hand side.
